Pictured below is the Ross School at the corner of Butler and South Townline Roads which was dismantled by the Richard Andrews in June 1976. The reverse side of the marble plaque over the door was found to be a tombstone dating from the 1840's

 The first grist mill was built by Burton Canfield in 1824, later owned by S. T. Gibson and Son. It stood south of the Vermilion River bridge near the site of the present dam.
